Bad Memories is an Early Access adult visual novel that has been in continuous development since its May 2021 launch. The developer has shipped a consistent series of major content updates over the years: v0.7 in September 2021, v0.8 in April 2023, v0.8.5 in May 2023, v0.9 in August 2024, and v0.9.5 in August 2025. This establishes a sustained cadence of major updates roughly every 8–14 months.
The game's version numbering (currently at 0.9.5) signals that the full 1.0 release has not yet been reached. Beyond the major releases, the developer pushed a significant gallery overhaul to the beta branch on October 14, 2025, which is the most recent official communication. As of today (September 24, 2026), that is approximately 11 months since the last post — slightly beyond the high end of the historical cadence window, but not dramatically so for a solo developer with an established pattern of irregular-but-sustained updates. The developer has also been transparent about personal circumstances (moving countries, family commitments) that have contributed to longer gaps between communications.
Notably, the developer confirmed in December 2024 that they were continuing work on Bad Memories (not switching to another project), and described an upcoming update. That stated intent, combined with the unfinished version number and unbroken history of releases, means the game is still in active development rather than silently abandoned. There is no developer statement indicating completion or cessation of work.

This game is a story rich (adult) Visual Novel in which you either play as a hetero man or a lesbian woman who needs to get to grips with his or her past. Your decisions will influence the later parts of the game and can also change a few early scenes.
The past:
Your childhood became a mess, when your mom died when you were still a child, at the same time your father started drinking and seeing women... differently. When he found a new girlfirend, things slowly began to get out of hand.
But That Wasn't the Only Thing That Changed.
As a witness to that lifestyle, you too did stupid things like fighting with other kids. You had trouble in school and problems with the law more then once, though you never crossed "the line".
After your dad died, you hoped that things would change for the better, but instead they got worse, so you left your hometown and swore to never come back.
As time went on, you've managed to build a somewhat normal life, and all the past memories that seemingly had started to fade became foggy at best.
But will it stay that way?
