Badlanders was a free-to-play online looter-shooter that ran seasonal content updates from its Steam launch in March 2022 through early 2024. On July 31, 2024, the developer posted an official shutdown announcement stating that Badlanders would cease operations on October 31, 2024. As part of the wind-down, character creation and in-game purchases were disabled immediately on July 31, 2024, while existing players could continue until the servers closed. The game's servers went offline on October 31, 2024, and the game is no longer purchasable on Steam — confirmed by the absence of any purchase options on the store page.
