Banana Shooter is a free-to-play multiplayer shooter that launched on May 1, 2022. Solo developer CodingDaniel has steadily updated the game since launch, shipping new game modes, maps, weapons, a map editor, dedicated servers, and cosmetic systems across 2022 and 2023. On January 30, 2024, the developer released the "Cyber Upgrade" DLC — the game's only paid expansion — and stated clearly in the announcement: "This is the first dlc in the game and probably will be the last one, it contains almost everything that could possibly exist in the game." That post also casually mentioned two potential future free additions (random in-game events and more official maps), but these were informal notes without dates or commitments, and neither has shipped. On September 4, 2026, the developer posted a security notice about a Remote Code Execution vulnerability found in the Steam Workshop map system. The workshop feature has been temporarily disabled while a fix is worked on. This post confirms the developer is still engaged with the game in a maintenance capacity, but it does not announce new content — it is a security response to an existing feature. Taken together, the picture is consistent: the developer wrapped up planned content with the January 2024 DLC release (which was explicitly described as likely the final one), and the September 2026 post is maintenance activity rather than a signal of new content development.
