Evaluation
Battlefield 3 originally launched in 2011 and arrived on Steam on June 11, 2020 as the Premium Edition — a complete package that bundles the base game with all five expansion packs (20 maps, 20 weapons, 10 vehicles, and 4 game modes). The store description explicitly describes this as an all-inclusive bundle. Both DLC items on the Steam listing are cosmetic/shortcut bundles that released on the same day as the Steam launch, with nothing unreleased.
All developer news posts associated with this Steam page are about other Battlefield titles — specifically Battlefield 6 and Battlefield 2042 — and do not announce any new content for Battlefield 3 itself. The Battlefield Labs posts (February through July 2025) document development of the next Battlefield game, not updates to BF3. The March 2024 promotional posts are about Battlefield 2042 free weekends and franchise sales.
Battlefield 3 arrived on Steam as a finished, legacy product containing all content ever released for it. There is no post-launch update cadence, no announced future content, and no indication from DICE or EA that further development is planned for this title. The game is complete as of its Steam launch date of June 11, 2020.
Evidence
Store description explicitly states the Premium Edition includes 'the game and all 5 expansion packs,' describing a complete all-inclusive package launched on Steam on June 11, 2020.
Both DLC items (Ultimate Shortcut Bundle and SPECACT Kit & Dog Tag Bundle) were released on the same day as the Steam launch — no unreleased DLC exists.
