Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery launched on August 25, 2021. In June 2022, Silver Lining Studio shipped "The Jack Chapters" — a free story expansion adding new paintings, puzzles, and a new character — alongside the game's console release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. This was the last piece of new content added to the base game. In March 2023, the developer announced a separate VR version of Behind the Frame, which is a distinct product on Steam rather than additional content for this game. The studio's subsequent communications have focused on their next title, The Star Named EOS, which launched on July 23, 2024. In April 2025, a physical Switch bundle combining both Silver Lining Studio games was announced for Japan. All three DLC items (soundtrack and two art books) have been released. No additional content has been announced for the base game since The Jack Chapters shipped in June 2022, and the developer has not signaled any further updates. The game appears to have launched as a complete narrative experience and received one post-launch story expansion, after which development concluded.
