Beyond a Coral Sea

Beyond a Coral Sea launched on April 23, 2023 as a short VR adventure game. A soundtrack DLC released the same day. The developers subsequently shipped quality-of-life updates, including locomotion options in May 2023 and a save system in January 2024. A second part was always part of the plan: on May 13, 2025, the developers announced a Part 2 DLC targeting a late 2025 release. That deadline passed without a release, but the developers followed up with a transparent update on April 30, 2026 explaining why. Rather than releasing a smaller DLC, they decided to expand the scope and turn Part 2 into a complete story conclusion for the game. One team member is now working on it full-time (the project was previously a hobbyist side venture), and the revised target is early 2027. The Part 2 DLC is listed on the Steam store as unreleased, confirming it remains an outstanding commitment. The most recent developer communication — the April 30, 2026 post — is both candid about the delay and clearly affirms that development is ongoing and progressing.
