Evaluation
Return of the Obra Dinn launched on October 18, 2018 as a self-contained mystery adventure game. It was designed and shipped as a complete, finished product with no post-launch content cycle. The only DLC ever released is the official soundtrack (June 24, 2021), which is supplemental media rather than gameplay content. Developer Lucas Pope has posted a handful of updates since launch — adding language localizations (Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese in April 2019, Ukrainian and Arabic in September 2022) and a save backup system — but these are maintenance and accessibility improvements, not new story or gameplay content. The last developer communication was on September 14, 2022. No future content, expansions, or updates of any kind have been announced. This game launched as a complete experience and remains exactly that.
Evidence
The only DLC released is a standalone soundtrack, not gameplay content. No unreleased DLC exists.
Update 1.2.120 added Ukrainian and Arabic language support and upgraded the game engine from Unity 5 to Unity 2017. Framed as maintenance work, with no mention of new gameplay content or future plans.

Return of the Obra Dinn is a first-person mystery adventure based on exploration and logical deduction.
