Birthdays the Beginning launched on May 9, 2017. In the months following launch, NIS America focused primarily on fixing PC optimization issues — controls, graphics options, and performance — with a series of patches running from May through November 2017. Two minor free DLC ornament packs were released around launch (Crashed UFO on May 10, 2017, and the Avatar Ornament Set on May 23, 2017), followed by a larger free DLC bundle including the Prinny Doll and six cosmetic sets in August 2017. A final feature patch went live on November 8, 2017, adding controller configuration and improved graphics options. All four DLC items listed on the store are released. There have been no developer communications since November 16, 2017, no unreleased DLC, no roadmap or promise of future content, and no announced expansions. The game shipped as a complete product and received a modest post-launch support period that has long since concluded.
