BLASTRONAUT

BLASTRONAUT is a solo-developed Early Access mining game that entered Early Access on July 27, 2022. The developer (a single person) shipped a consistent run of major updates through its first two years: the Darkness update (October 27, 2022), the Companion update (January 27, 2023), the Aqueous update (May 6, 2023), and the Swarm update (August 6, 2023). After the Swarm update, development went quiet through all of 2024. On January 1, 2025, the developer returned with a new roadmap, acknowledging the gap and laying out a plan to finish the game with a full 1.0 release targeted for November 2025. The roadmap described six major development milestones: "Gates" (January), "Loop" (February), "Home" (April), "Combat" (June), "Expeditions" (August), and "Release" (November). The first milestone shipped on January 4, 2025 as Update 0.5.3 "Gates," adding teleportation gates and a new Mesa biome. On March 2, 2025, the developer posted a progress update confirming that the "Loop" update — the overhaul of the core game structure — was running behind schedule and would be delayed by "a couple of weeks" from its February target. That post is the last official communication from the developer. Since March 2, 2025, there have been no further posts of any kind. All remaining roadmap milestones — "Home" (April 2025), "Combat" (June 2025), "Expeditions" (August 2025), and the full "Release" (November 2025) — have passed without any updates or announcements. The developer has a documented history of extended silences (the original roadmap ended in 2023 with no communication until January 2025), and the game remains in Early Access with substantial content and a full game loop redesign still undelivered. The current silence, stretching from March 2, 2025 to today (June 24, 2026), raises real uncertainty about whether development is continuing.
