Evaluation

Bleak Faith: Forsaken launched on March 10, 2023. The three-person studio at Archangel Studios has shipped a consistent stream of substantial updates since launch: major patches on June 29, 2023 (NG+, new weapons and armor), October 7, 2023 (AI overhaul, new enemies, new equipment), November 21, 2023 (full leveling system redesign), January 13, 2024 (movement and archery overhaul), March 4, 2024 (new mini-boss, running attacks), May 31, 2024 (performance improvements, new enemy types), August 5, 2024 (complete parry system redesign, major UI overhaul, new enemy models — described by the team as "a huge milestone"), and April 6, 2025 (new mini-boss, stamina rebalancing, fixes). The historical cadence between major updates has ranged from roughly 2 to 4 months. The last developer communication of any kind was on April 6, 2025. As of today's date (October 8, 2026), that means 18 months have passed without any developer communication — well beyond the established cadence window and beyond the 6-month silence ceiling. No developer statement has confirmed development is over, but the silence significantly exceeds the historical pattern. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced upcoming content, and no developer statement about future plans. The developer has also not communicated any studio distress. The gap is long enough that the game's update cycle appears to have ended, with the April 6, 2025 patch most plausibly representing the final update. The launch announcement on March 10, 2023 pledged ongoing support, and the studio delivered on that for over two years — but the evidence now points to the content cycle having concluded.
