Ronimo Games explicitly confirmed on two separate occasions that Blightbound's development has concluded. On March 21, 2022, the studio shipped Patch 1.1.2, describing it as "the final planned patch for Blightbound" and stating there was "a good chance that we will stop active development for Blightbound after this patch." They followed this with a studio update on June 27, 2022, which unambiguously confirmed: "Blightbound development has concluded." That post was dedicated to documenting known bugs the team was no longer able to fix — a clear signal that no further patches or content updates are coming.
The game's content journey ran from Early Access entry through several major updates: Update 0.7: Final Charge (February 24, 2021), the 1.0 full release (July 27, 2021), and The Divine Rite 1.1 update (November 11, 2021), followed by the final Patch 1.1.2 in March 2022. The store description still references "planned free updates," but this language predates the developer's closure announcement and has not been updated to reflect the concluded state.
