The game originally launched on May 9, 2019 as a remaster of the classic 1997 shooter, developed by Nightdive Studios and published by Atari. It included the base game and its two add-ons (Plasma Pak and Cryptic Passage). Post-launch, Nightdive issued several bug-fix patches through mid-2019, and in November 2023 added the original DOS version as a bonus launch option. The last developer communication was on November 20, 2023. No future content was announced or left undelivered, and the game has since been removed from the storefront.
