Bloodline Champions is a free-to-play PvP arena game that originally launched in October 2011. In late 2014, publisher Funcom announced they were shutting down the game's servers, but developer Stunlock Studios stepped in to keep the game running. On January 28, 2015, Stunlock took over server hosting, applied a patch, and released three cosmetic DLC packs in February 2015. A small series of balance and bug-fix patches followed through May 2015, with the last developer communication on record being a bug-fix and tournament post on May 14, 2015. Since May 2015, there have been no further patches, feature updates, or developer posts about Bloodline Champions. The one subsequent news post — from May 2021 — was an announcement for Stunlock Studios' new game, V Rising, with no mention of any continued work on Bloodline Champions. All three DLC packs have been released. The studio's attention has clearly shifted entirely to V Rising. The game has been in a maintenance-only (and then fully silent) state for over a decade. With no outstanding content commitments, no unreleased DLC, and no developer communication about Bloodline Champions since May 2015, the game is best understood as a complete product that remains available to play but is no longer in active development.
