Brimstone Brawlers - Early Access

Brimstone Brawlers has been in Early Access since May 19, 2020 and continues to be listed as such. The solo developer (Ategig) built a consistent and active update history, including a major Unreal Engine 5 migration in March 2023, a campaign mode launched in September 2024 that was actively expanded through early 2025, and a new brawler loadout and cosmetics system introduced in May 2025. The most recent developer activity was Update 0.3.18 on May 8, 2025, which added two new campaign levels, four new Epic items, and the first wave of Founder's Edition cosmetics — explicitly described as "the first of several unique limited time cosmetic items." The loadout system introduced days earlier noted that "there will be more unique functional items in the future." Both statements point to planned content that had not yet shipped as of that date. However, as of October 8, 2026, no further updates or communications have appeared — a silence of roughly 17 months. This is a significant break from the developer's previously established pattern of frequent updates. Prior to May 2025, updates were arriving multiple times per month. No explanation for the gap has been provided, and no 1.0 release date has ever been announced. The Founder's Edition DLC was sold with the promise of all future content included, which gives the developer a financial obligation to continue. However, with no communication since May 8, 2025, it is not currently possible to confirm that the announced future content (additional cosmetics, loadout items, and whatever further campaign or brawler content was implied) is still being developed.
