Evaluation
Bulb Boy launched on October 29, 2015 as a complete point-and-click horror adventure. Post-launch support was limited to a small number of bug fix patches in 2015–2016, and a soundtrack DLC released on July 18, 2016 — which represents the last piece of content shipped for the original game. The developer made no announcements of additional expansions or updates for Bulb Boy after that date.
The recent wave of developer activity from Bulbware concerns their sequel, Bulb Boy 2: Jar of Despair, which launched on Steam on October 23, 2025 and subsequently came to Nintendo Switch on March 5, 2026. These posts are published on the original game's Steam page as the studio's news channel, but the content itself is entirely about the new game — not updates to Bulb Boy. A December 2025 feature patch (adding a new mini-game and fixes) also appears to be part of Bulb Boy 2 rather than the original title, based on context.
Bulb Boy itself shipped as a self-contained experience with no season pass, no announced expansions, and no outstanding commitments. Its sole DLC is the soundtrack, which has been available since July 2016. The game is complete as originally designed.
Evidence
Bulb Boy Soundtrack DLC released on July 18, 2016 — the only DLC for the original game, and the last content addition on record.
Bulb Boy 2: Jar of Despair launched on Nintendo Switch. Developer activity is focused entirely on the sequel.
