Burly Men at Sea launched on September 29, 2016 as a complete, self-contained folktale adventure. The game received several post-launch patches over the years — adding achievements, localizations, animations, and engine updates — but none of these introduced new story content or indicated that additional content was planned. The sole DLC is the original soundtrack, which shipped on launch day. The developer's most recent news post (October 24, 2025) announces a brand-new, separate game called The Marvelous Raincaster of Yell Holler, with no mention of any future updates to Burly Men at Sea. Brain&Brain have clearly moved on to their next project. The game shipped as a finished product and has received only maintenance-type updates since launch.
