Castaway

Castaway launched on August 16, 2024 as a complete, self-contained mini-game with two modes: a Story Mode (roughly 1 hour) and an unlockable Survivor Mode (a 50-floor tower). The only DLC listed is the game's soundtrack, which has already been released. At launch, the solo developer (Johan) stated that he had "always planned to add more content," but conditioned this entirely on the game's reception and sales — explicitly noting that whether he could continue working on Castaway depended on how well it performed. This is a conditional aspiration, not a commitment to specific content. No roadmap, named DLC, or concrete post-launch content has been announced since then. Following launch, the developer shipped a bug fix patch on August 17, 2024 and a quality-of-life update (v1.1.0) on September 12, 2024. The September patch notes included an encouraging line ("Martin's adventure is a good foundation for what comes next"), but no specific future content was announced. There have been no developer communications of any kind since September 12, 2024 — nearly 21 months before today's date of June 20, 2026. With no announced future content, no unreleased DLC, no post-launch major content updates, and over 21 months of silence from the developer, the game is best understood as a complete, shipped product. The developer's launch-day hopes for future content were explicitly conditional and have not been followed up with any concrete announcement.
