Cateau

Cateau is a free-to-play visual novel that launched on October 17, 2018. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained experience — a narrative adventure set in Paris with multiple endings, built around a single story with no post-launch content additions planned or announced. After launch, the developer issued one bug-fix patch on October 30, 2018 addressing several technical issues. Beyond that, developer communications shifted focus to a new, unrelated project called Allthamon's Amazing Adventure (announced January 22, 2019), which received a series of development updates throughout early-to-mid 2019. These posts were published on Cateau's Steam page but are entirely about the new game, not Cateau itself. The most recent developer communications for Cateau specifically are milestone and anniversary posts: a January 30, 2020 post celebrating 15,000 licenses issued, and an October 17, 2021 third-anniversary thank-you. Neither post announces any new content or updates to the game. The developer acknowledged in the January 2020 post that the studio had been on an unannounced hiatus while team members finished university studies. The last developer communication of any kind was October 17, 2021 — over four and a half years before today's date of June 26, 2026. There is no DLC, no announced future content, no season pass, and no roadmap. The store description and short description describe a complete, finished narrative experience. Cateau launched as a finished product and has received no substantive post-launch content additions. The game is complete as of its original release date.
