Evaluation
Celestial Crossing is a visual novel that launched on December 30, 2016. After release, the developer issued a series of updates through 2017: a technical patch in January laying groundwork for achievements and trading cards, an announcement in March 2017 of upcoming features, and a beta update in June 2017. The final developer-confirmed update was the launch of Steam achievements and an image gallery on September 7, 2017.
The March 2017 developer post did mention two additional possibilities — an adult content patch and a "Nerith route" expansion — but the developer explicitly described both as uncertain ("too early to say if it will actually bear any fruit") and never followed up on either after that post. The same post hinted at a potential sequel, but again with no firm commitment. None of these possibilities were ever announced as confirmed upcoming content, and no further developer communication has appeared since September 7, 2017.
With no unreleased DLC on the store, no developer communications since September 2017, and all mentioned updates having shipped, the game appears to be a complete, finished product. The developer has not indicated any further content is planned.

About this game
The characters we create in games are fascinating. They are often a projection of our power fantasies.
If you consider yourself weak, you often create a strong character. If you think you are dumb, you will create a wise and intelligent character.
They represent traits that we don't have, but wish we had.
Often they are our polar opposite. Good people get to be bad, and shy people get to be courageous.
So what would happen if you came face to face with your in-game alter ego?
Do you think you would get along? Would you like each other? Or would you not stand the sight of each other?
In this visual novel you play as Hikaru, a high school student who sleeps all day and plays his favorite game all night.
Though one day trough a series of events he does not yet understand, these two worlds collide and his in-game avatar is now standing in his bedroom. He will now have to learn how to live with Nerith, a barbaric elven warlock who does not understand civilized concepts such as laws, morals, or pants...
