Chinese Frontiers: Prologue was a free demo/prologue released on May 17, 2023 to help SolidGames gather player feedback during development of the full game. On June 20, 2025, the developer posted an official announcement confirming that the full version of Chinese Frontiers had launched and that, as a result, they were formally ending development of the Prologue and unlisting it from Steam. The developer explained the Prologue no longer accurately represents the current state of the full game, as maps, UI, and core mechanics were all significantly revised based on player feedback gathered during the Prologue phase. The game is no longer available for purchase on Steam, consistent with the developer's stated decision to unlist it.
