Choo-Choo Charles launched on Steam on December 9, 2022 as a fully finished single-player game. The developer (a solo developer named Gavin) followed up with several bug-fix patches in the weeks after launch to address early issues. In October 2023, a free Nightmare Mode update was added — a new difficulty-focused game mode with a revamped atmosphere and soundtrack. The game then expanded to consoles (Xbox One, Xbox Series, PS4, PS5) on December 21, 2023, followed by Nintendo Switch on January 18, 2024. There are no unreleased DLC listings on the store, no season passes, no announced future content, and no roadmap pointing to additional updates. The developer has not posted any news since December 2023. The post-launch activity consisted of bug fixes and a single feature update, all of which have shipped. About this game

Charles is a bloodthirsty train, and you need to destroy him.

Navigate a massive play area in your trusty old engine.

These winding tracks are treacherous, so you'll need to plan each mission carefully. Be wary when traveling on foot, or switching the track's direction; Charles might be waiting for you.

Upgrade your train to fit your needs.

Go looting or complete missions to find "Scraps", which can be used to turn your train into a death machine on wheels.

Get help from the townspeople.

Help out the settlers in return for high powered weapons, and other items vital to Charles' destruction.

**Fight Charles to the death.**

Complete the main questline, and summon Charles to a mortal duel. If you’ve gained enough strength, firepower, and skill, Charles may finally meet his match.
