Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched on April 24, 2025 to massive commercial success, eventually reaching 8 million copies sold by its first anniversary in April 2026. Sandfall Interactive delivered a robust post-launch support cycle across its first year. The months following launch were dedicated to quality-of-life and stability improvements: Patch 1.2.3 (May 9, 2025), Patch 1.3.0 (June 10, 2025) adding gameplay modifiers and balancing, and Patch 1.4.0 (July 30, 2025) bringing the widely-requested Battle Retry feature and GPU optimizations. On October 8, 2025, Sandfall announced a major free "Thank You" update to celebrate 5 million copies sold. That update — Patch 1.5.0 — shipped on December 12, 2025, and was a substantial release: a brand-new playable environment called Verso's Drafts, new costumes for all expedition members, new weapons and Luminas, new Endless Tower boss variations, Photo Mode, and seven additional language localizations. The accompanying "Verso's Drafts" soundtrack DLC also released the same day. Since December 2025, developer activity has shifted to maintenance and celebration. Bug-fix patches continued through at least June 30, 2026 (Patch 1.5.6), and the first anniversary post on April 24, 2026 added cosmetic haircuts.
