Evaluation

Coins & Wishpalm launched on January 9, 2025 and received a flurry of updates in its first few months. The developer overhauled the entire save system on January 16, 2025 after a critical data loss bug, apologized publicly, and stated explicitly: "In the upcoming updates, in addition to fixing bugs, I will continue to update new content!" Two major content features followed — the "LoreFold" encyclopedia system on February 19, 2025 and the "Tribal Camp" trading feature on April 13, 2025 — along with numerous feature patches and bug fixes. The last developer communication of any kind was a bug fix patch on April 17, 2025. As of October 1, 2026, no update, patch, announcement, or developer message has appeared since April 17, 2025 — a silence of approximately 17 months. The developer never announced the game as complete or stated that updates had ended. The January 2025 promise of continued new content was never walked back. However, the silence has now extended far beyond the roughly 7–8 week cadence between the two major updates, with no explanation offered. The developer has not announced a studio closure or funding issues, but also has not confirmed the game is still being worked on. This leaves the game's future uncertain: planned content was promised and never formally cancelled, but development activity has gone completely dark.
