Collapse: A Political Simulator launched on February 23, 2021 and has been receiving substantial free content updates ever since. The developer has shipped five major updates over the game's lifetime: Version 1.5.0 (July 25, 2021), "The Biggest Update" (December 31, 2022), "New Ways 2.3" (June 30, 2024), Update 3.0 — described as a full relaunch with completely reworked mechanics, a new AI, two new game modes, RPG elements, and overhauled elections — on July 19, 2026, and most recently the quality-of-life and content feature patch 3.1.0 on August 27, 2026.
Between major releases, the developer has consistently published feature patches and bug fixes. The August 27, 2026 update added new achievements, new event response options, and interface improvements — demonstrating continued active engagement with the game just 36 days ago.
The developer has not announced that development is complete, and the sustained pattern of major updates roughly every 12–18 months, supported by frequent smaller patches in between, shows the game continues to receive substantial and ongoing development work.
