Evaluation

Construct: Escape the System launched on December 2, 2016 as a self-contained first-person platformer with a fixed set of content (57 gameplay areas, 8 ability orbs, 16 power orbs, and 5 upgrades). After launch, the developer released a series of patches in early 2017: a fixes-and-improvements update on January 24, 2017, a demo on February 18, 2017, and a final update on March 26, 2017 that added Mac and Linux support along with further bug fixes. The January 2017 post mentioned that "a more substantial content update is planned for the future," but no such update ever materialized — the March 2017 patch was the last communication from the developer about this game, and it contained only technical fixes with no mention of forthcoming content. The only post after March 2017 (NEWS-1, August 12, 2024) is a promotional announcement from the publisher Immanitas Entertainment for an entirely different game (Skelethrone: The Chronicles of Ericona), not an update for Construct. There has been no developer communication about Construct itself since March 26, 2017. The store description presents the game as a complete, bounded experience with a defined set of collectibles and zones. No DLC was ever listed, no roadmap was published, and the promised "content update" from January 2017 was never delivered or mentioned again. The game appears to have shipped and concluded its active development cycle with the March 2017 patch.
