Hover launched out of Early Access on May 31, 2017 and received a solid run of post-launch updates. Major content milestones included a large Halloween update in October 2017 and the multi-platform console release in September 2018. Feature patches added a full map, new skins, cross-platform multiplayer, and quality-of-life improvements throughout 2017 and into 2018. The last official communication from Midgar Studio was on May 21, 2019, when they posted an update acknowledging that promised DLCs were delayed due to the Xbox One version lagging behind and other ongoing productions. That post confirmed DLC was being worked on, but no DLC beyond the soundtrack (released June 1, 2017) has ever appeared on the store, and there have been no developer communications of any kind since that May 2019 post. More than seven years have passed since that final update with no follow-up announcement, no DLC release, and no roadmap activity. The developer's own post framed the DLC delay as a logistical issue rather than a cancellation, but given the complete silence since May 21, 2019, and the absence of any shipped DLC, the promised content was never delivered and the game has effectively been left in its final state. The one DLC listed on the store is the soundtrack, which released the day after launch and is unrelated to the promised gameplay DLC. The game can reasonably be considered complete in its current form, with no further updates expected.
