Cows VS Vikings entered Steam Early Access on December 6, 2018, and maintained a fairly active development cadence for several years — shipping updates roughly every 1–10 months, adding new levels, enemies, spells, UI improvements, and localization. The most recent developer communication was a roadmap post on February 11, 2022, which outlined a series of planned beta versions (v0.8.2 through v0.9.2) leading up to an "official Release." That post indicates the developer intended to leave Early Access, but no 1.0 launch has occurred. No developer posts, patch notes, announcements, or other communications have appeared since February 11, 2022 — a silence of more than four years. The game remains in Early Access with its original store description unchanged, still soliciting player feedback. With a promised full release that never came and no communication from the studio since early 2022, it is unclear whether development is still ongoing.
