Crimson Dawn launched into Early Access on October 10, 2022 and graduated to its full 1.0 release on April 11, 2023. During Early Access, Purple Lake was very active: they published a content roadmap in October 2022 and delivered on it with three major updates — a new map and languages (October 20, 2022), a new class and weapons (December 7, 2022), and a new map/class/weapons again (December 22, 2022). The final pre-release patch (March 8, 2023) added map bosses and balance changes. The 1.0 release announcement on April 11, 2023 noted the game's completion of Early Access and thanked the community, with no roadmap, expansion plans, or future content commitments mentioned. There have been no developer posts of any kind since April 11, 2023 — over three years of silence. The store description presents the game as a complete package with defined content (5 stages, multiple characters, weapons, and the Hub). There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced future content, and no active post-launch update pattern. The game launched as a finished product and has received no post-1.0 content updates.

Every weapon in the game has its own upgrade tree, as well as its own game mechanics.
