Dark Train

Dark Train launched on October 25, 2016 as a complete steampunk adventure game. Following launch, Paperash Studio shipped several free content updates adding new levels: "Deep Into the City 1" on November 30, 2016, a winter seasonal update ("Frozen to the Metal") on December 20, 2016, "Deep Into the City 2" on April 5, 2017, and a second winter update on December 22, 2017. The only paid DLC — a soundtrack — released on June 8, 2017. The last developer communication of any kind was a New Year's message on December 28, 2017, which teased news about a separate standalone follow-up game (Dark Train: Coupe) but made no promises about additional content for Dark Train itself. That follow-up was announced via Steam Greenlight in May 2017 as an entirely separate game — not a DLC or expansion for Dark Train. There have been no developer posts, patches, or announcements for Dark Train since December 2017 — over eight years of silence as of June 2026. No unreleased DLC is listed on the store, no roadmap or future content was ever promised for the base game, and the developer's own announcement of the sequel explicitly described it as a standalone product. The update pattern, while active in the first year post-launch, clearly ended with the December 2017 winter update, and the long silence since confirms the game is complete.
