Evaluation
Day of Defeat launched on May 1, 2003 as a complete, finished product. It has no DLC, no expansion pass, and no announced future content. The post-launch update history consists entirely of maintenance work: security and crash fixes (July 2017, August 2018), Linux/OS X compatibility and SteamPipe migration (March–April 2013), and a shared-engine patch inherited from a Half-Life update on October 8, 2019. None of these updates introduced new game content — they reflect Valve maintaining the game's technical health on modern platforms. The most recent developer communication was on October 8, 2019. Valve has made no announcements of upcoming content, and the game has received no new gameplay content in many years. This is a classic multiplayer title that shipped as a finished package and has been in maintenance-only mode for a long time.
Evidence
Most recent developer communication: a shared Half-Life engine update applied to Day of Defeat. No new game content.
Small engine bug fixes. Maintenance-only update with no new content.
