Company of Heroes originally launched on September 11, 2006 and received two expansions: Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor. These have long since shipped, and the game has been considered a complete, finished product for many years. On June 7, 2026, Relic Entertainment announced a "Company of Heroes – Definitive Edition," set to release in Fall 2026. This is a modernized remaster of the original game bundling the base game and both expansions with quality-of-life improvements, 64-bit support, enhanced visuals, and modern hardware compatibility. Importantly, in the announcement's FAQ, the developer explicitly stated: "No. Our focus is on delivering the ultimate Company of Heroes experience when we launch the Definitive Edition later this year. We'll keep an eye out for any critical issues or bugs that need to be addressed after launch, but our primary goal is to optimize Company of Heroes for modern hardware." This confirms that no new post-launch content or DLC is planned for the Definitive Edition either. The news feed for this Steam listing (App ID 228200 — the original release) contains several posts about Company of Heroes 3, which is a separate game. These are not relevant to assessing the content status of COH1 itself. The original Company of Heroes is a long-finished product. Its content was complete with the release of Tales of Valor in 2009. The upcoming Definitive Edition is a separate listing (App ID 4691270) and does not change the completed status of this original release.
