Evaluation

Dead Frontier 2 is a free-to-play survival horror MMO that launched on July 15, 2019 and has been receiving continuous, substantial updates ever since. The developer, Creaky Corpse Ltd, maintains an active presence with regular major content drops, gameplay system overhauls, and seasonal events. Since the previous assessment, one of the two previously announced major updates has already shipped: Nightmare Loop launched on June 29, 2026, adding a hardcore permadeath roguelike mode for end-game players, new achievements, and new NPCs. The second major update — the Level 70 Content Update — remains in active development. Announced on June 8, 2026 and targeting Early Autumn 2026, it will introduce an increased level cap, two new end-game areas, a new large boss, extensive new zombie models, new gear, and a new daily end-game mission type. Recurring seasonal events also continue: The Drowned Darkness summer event ran July 24–August 20, 2026, featuring a new boss (Abyssal Maw), a new flooded raid building, new unique items, and new cosmetics. As recently as August 19, 2026, the developer shipped a bug fix patch, confirming the studio is actively engaged with the game. Across the full history visible here, the game has shipped six major content releases, numerous feature patches, and regular seasonal events, establishing a strong, sustained development cadence. The developer has publicly committed to more substantial content arriving in the near term.
