Dreadhalls launched on Steam on March 9, 2017 as a complete VR horror game. Following launch, the developer issued a handful of patches to improve controller compatibility and fix bugs, with the most recent being a minor feature patch on June 8, 2020 that added an additional turn speed setting. There has been no developer communication of any kind since June 8, 2020 — nearly six years ago. The developer's attention shifted to a spiritual successor, Cosmodread, which was announced in February 2020 and released in March 2021. No additional DLC, expansions, or future content has ever been announced for Dreadhalls. The store description makes no mention of planned updates or additional content. The game launched as a self-contained procedurally generated dungeon experience, and all post-launch activity was limited to maintenance and compatibility updates rather than new content.
