Evaluation
DreadOut launched on May 15, 2014 as a complete supernatural horror adventure featuring Act 0, Act 1, and Act 2 of Linda's story, along with an unlockable wardrobe. The only DLC — a Soundtrack & Manga pack — was released on the same day as the game itself, making it a launch-day bundle rather than post-launch content.
The developer news feed for this game is largely used to share updates about other Digital Happiness titles. The most recent communication (September 4, 2026) announces development logs for DreadOut 3, a separate upcoming title in the series. The May 7, 2026 DHXP anniversary post celebrates twelve years of the studio and teases progress on previously announced projects, but references nothing new for the original DreadOut. Earlier posts cover DreadHaunt (a separate multiplayer game) and DreadOut 2 (a separate sequel that shipped on PC and consoles).
In the twelve-plus years since DreadOut's release, the developer has never announced, hinted at, or shipped any new content for the original game. The store description presents it as a complete package covering all acts of the story. DreadOut launched as a finished product and has remained so.
Evidence
Store description presents the game as a complete package including Act 0, Act 1, and Act 2 of Linda's story, along with an unlockable wardrobe — no mention of future content or expansions.
The only DLC — a Soundtrack & Manga pack — was released on launch day, May 15, 2014. No further DLC has been added in over twelve years.
