Dreamscaper launched into Early Access in August 2020 and received a series of major content updates during that period, including the Reflection Update (October 2, 2020), the Phoenix Update (November 25, 2020), and the Awakening Update (February 18, 2021). The game reached its full 1.0 release on August 5, 2021, followed by a quality-of-life patch in September 2021 and one final content update — version 1.1 — on October 21, 2021, which added new weapons, items, and rooms. After that, in a January 11, 2022 developer post, Afterburner Studios explicitly stated: "as of 1.1 we now consider the current version of Dreamscaper as the final definitive experience, but we will continue to maintain stability and performance for our players." This is a direct declaration from the developer that content development is complete. The only subsequent update was a February 20, 2023 patch that added Steam Deck verification — a technical improvement, not new content. In that post, the team also confirmed they had moved on to work on their next unannounced title. The sole DLC in the store listing is the game's soundtrack, which was released in August 2020 and has no unreleased counterparts. Dreamscaper is a complete, finished game. All content the developer planned has shipped.
