Dungeon Defenders: Awakened

Dungeon Defenders: Awakened launched on May 28, 2020 and has had an active development revival since late 2025, when Chromatic Games brought in a small team of community members to restart substantial development work. On June 4, 2026, the team published an explicit development roadmap post describing everything they are currently building: new maps (four in total — two remakes from the original game and two original maps), new challenge content, new loot and pets, an elemental system rework, and ongoing balance work. They also announced a public test branch (PTR) to involve the community in testing updates before they go live. Since that post, the team has continued shipping updates at a consistent weekly cadence. The most recent update arrived on August 12, 2026, which added new rewards, balance adjustments, and — notably — announced that a console test patch is being prepared as a first step toward bringing console versions up to parity with the PC version. The team closes that post by saying "there's plenty more on the way." All eight store-listed DLC are released, with the most recent cosmetic DLC (Crystal Core: Relics Unsealed) shipping on May 27, 2026. The developer has made no announcement of a final update or conclusion to content development. The game is clearly in active, ongoing development with both near-term and longer-term content explicitly in progress.
