Evaluation
DX-Ball 2: 20th Anniversary Edition launched on November 21, 2018 and received a steady stream of updates and DLC through early 2020. The developer shipped Board Pack 2 on December 24, 2018, followed by major engine and feature updates through 2019 (Update 2.2 in March 2019, a 2.3 beta in August 2019). The Season Pass was sold as covering "4 remaining board packs," and the final piece of that pass — the Classic Pack — released on January 17, 2020. All three DLC items listed on the store are marked as released, and no unreleased DLC remains. The last developer news post on record is from August 18, 2019, and there have been no developer communications of any kind since then. The Classic Pack's January 2020 release represents the completion of the season pass commitment. With all promised content delivered, the season pass fulfilled, and no developer communications announcing future content since 2019, the game appears to have concluded its content development cycle upon the Classic Pack's release in January 2020.
