Streets of Rage 4 launched on April 30, 2020 and has received one paid DLC expansion and several major post-launch updates. The Mr. X Nightmare DLC — adding three new playable characters (Estel, Max Thunder, and Shiva), a Survival mode, new moves, weapons, and music — shipped on July 15, 2021. A major free update followed on March 10, 2023, bringing new co-op moves, a custom survival mode, and over 300 in-game improvements. A stability patch was released in December 2021 as well. Both DLC entries listed on the store are marked as released: the Mr. X Nightmare expansion (July 15, 2021) and the Original Game Soundtrack (June 27, 2025). No unreleased DLC is listed. The developer has made no announcements of upcoming content, roadmaps, or future expansions since the March 2023 update. There have been no developer communications of any kind since that update — a period of over three years as of June 2026. The developer established a pattern of one major paid content release (the Mr. X Nightmare DLC in July 2021) followed by a substantial free update (March 2023). With no further content signaled and silence extending well beyond that pattern, the game appears to be a completed package. The most recent datable content milestone was the March 10, 2023 major update, which represents the point at which the game's content became complete.
