Escape Machines

Escape Machines entered Steam Early Access on April 14, 2015. The developer shipped a beta update on May 30, 2015 (version 0.3), adding new content including a third level and a boss fight. Shortly after, on July 1, 2015, the developer announced plans to migrate the game to Unreal Engine, describing it as a "major upgrade," and encouraged players to buy before a price increase. That July 1, 2015 post is the last official communication from the developer. There have been no further updates, patch notes, or announcements in the roughly 11 years since. The store description still describes the game as being in "early beta" with multiplayer explicitly listed as "currently unavailable" — features that were presumably meant to be addressed during continued development. The promised Unreal Engine migration has never been confirmed as completed or cancelled. Given the complete silence since July 2015 and the unresolved promises of a major engine overhaul, the game's development status is deeply uncertain. It is functionally an abandoned Early Access title, though it remains purchasable on Steam.
