Evaluation
Exit the Gungeon launched on Steam on March 17, 2020 with a major version 2.0 overhaul. In the weeks following launch, Dodge Roll shipped a rapid series of patches addressing balance, controls, and bugs. The developer then delivered one additional major content update — "Hello to Arms" — on November 13, 2020, which added Arsenal Mode, Hub Rooms, new weapons, and other gameplay improvements. The Hello to Arms post noted that "there are a few more things we'd like to add" and that an announcement would follow when they were ready, but no such announcement ever came, and no further substantive updates were released after November 2020.
The only developer communication since then is a April 2, 2025 announcement for Enter the Gungeon 2, a separate sequel game — not new content for Exit the Gungeon. This announcement explicitly focuses on the next game in the series, with no mention of any plans for Exit the Gungeon itself.
All DLC listed consists solely of a soundtrack released on launch day. There are no unreleased DLC entries. The store description contains no language suggesting future content. Given that the last content update shipped on November 13, 2020 and over five years have passed with no further content updates or developer statements about Exit the Gungeon's ongoing development, the game is complete as of the Hello to Arms update.

About this game
Exit the Gungeon is a small, arcade-style, spin-off 'dungeon climber' that immediately follows the adventures of the misfit Gungeoneers attempting to survive a series of increasingly dangerous elevators and countless waves of enemies.
The Gungeon has become a paradox and is collapsing! Blessed by the magic of the Sorceress, your gun will change rapidly as you ascend the Gungeon. The better you play, and the higher your combo, the more powerful the form your gun will take.
Battle against the last and most bitter of the Gundead at a frantic pace, slowing down just long enough to chat with some familiar faces… and a few new ones. Shifting rooms, enemies, bosses, bizarre weapons and items all combine to ensure that no two attempts to Exit the Gungeon are the same.
