Exodus Borealis

Exodus Borealis launched into Early Access in mid-2021 and officially exited Early Access on November 18, 2021, as announced on October 8, 2021. At the time of that announcement, the developer stated that post-release work would continue but with a focus on quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes rather than major content additions — signaling a transition to a maintenance phase. Since the 1.0 release, the game received two new islands shipped during the Early Access period (patches b.4.4 in October 2021 and b.5.7 in December 2021), as well as several feature patches improving visuals, performance, navigation, and localization. The most recent update on record is the August 2, 2023 Version 6.7 patch, which added German language support, reworked animations, and Unity engine performance improvements. No new islands, expansions, or named DLC have been announced since then. There are no unreleased DLC items listed on the store, no roadmap pointing to future content, and no developer communications after August 2, 2023. The developer's own statement at 1.0 launch anticipated a winding-down of major content in favor of polish work, and the post-launch update history bears that out — updates have become progressively smaller and less frequent. The last meaningful update is now almost three years old as of June 2026, and the developer has made no statements suggesting further content is in the pipeline. The game appears to have reached its natural conclusion as a complete, finished product.
