Evaluation
Fallen Leaf launched on July 15, 2024 as a complete, self-contained retro platformer from Delta Shore Games. The store description presents a fully featured game with 70+ stages, multiple characters, and a complete story — no mention of planned expansions, season passes, or live content.
After launch, the developer issued a steady stream of bug fixes throughout mid-to-late 2024, along with one feature patch on August 3, 2024 adding quality-of-life improvements (weapon and character toggling) in response to player feedback. On November 23, 2024, a small content addition was shipped: a guest NPC appearance by Trihex added to World 4. The most recent developer communication is a bug fix patch on May 22, 2025.
Across 16 news posts since launch, there has been one minor content addition and one feature quality-of-life update — no roadmap, no announced DLC beyond the soundtrack (which released day one), and no stated plans for future expansions. The developer's July 2024 post mentioned "thinking up ways for future Quality of Life improvements," but that general statement was plausibly fulfilled by the August 2024 feature patch and subsequent fixes. No post since has renewed any commitment to further content.
The game shipped as a finished product, and nothing in the developer's communications since launch indicates additional content is in the pipeline. The sole DLC is a soundtrack pack that released on launch day. The development activity since release has been maintenance and minor additions consistent with post-launch polish on a complete game.
Evidence
A guest NPC (Trihex) was added to World 4 as a minor content addition alongside a bug fix patch.
Feature patch adds weapon and character toggling in response to community feedback, along with Steam Trading Cards. Represents the QoL improvements hinted at in the launch week post.
