Far Away is a visual novel that launched on August 17, 2021. The game's content story appears to have shipped complete at launch — the only DLC released is an art book (The Art of Far Away, March 18, 2022), which is a supplementary item rather than story content.
The game went through a significant period of silence caused by a publisher dispute: the developer Gratesca lost control of the Steam page to publisher Thermite Games, whose contract was legally terminated on April 17, 2023. This left the game without official updates for over a year through no fault of the developer. Gratesca resolved this through a lawsuit and regained publishing rights, announcing this on June 14, 2024.
Upon regaining control, Gratesca focused on expanding the game's reach rather than adding new story content: they launched an English localization on December 30, 2024, followed by a Japanese localization on April 9, 2025. Bug-fix patches (v1.1.1 in January 2025 and v1.1.3 in July 2025) have addressed typos and technical issues in the newly localized versions.
The June 2024 post mentioned that Krosa (Far Away's protagonist) would make a guest appearance in a DLC for Gratesca's other game, Noctuary — but this is content being added to a different game, not to Far Away itself. No new story content, expansions, or roadmap for Far Away has been announced. The developer's post-recovery communications are consistent with a completed game being maintained and localized for new audiences, not one receiving new content. The single released DLC (an art book) is fully shipped, and there are no unreleased DLC listings.

You will be given the opportunity to decide where her intriguing adventures lead to. The story of Far Away takes place on the Colseth Continent where Bedjan lies; a coastal city on the edge of a desert. Countless forces covet the city due to its strategic geographical location.
Twenty years have passed since the last war grinded to a halt in Bedjan. The city has seemingly retrieved a sense of peace and stability. However, an unsettling current is sweeping through the city. Chaos and a horrible scheme begins to brew in the "underworld." Krosa, as merely a common Bedjan citizen, can you frustrate the scheme? How will you change this city?
The game contains up to 9 riveting storylines, 16 alternate endings and over 300 options to choose from. Immerse yourself in this over 500-thousand-word story, make choices, and witness intriguing character development. Bring Krosa, the main character, to life in various corners of Bedjan city. Lead her in joining different forces and establish relationships with other characters.
