Evaluation
Fault: Elder Orb entered Steam Early Access on July 17, 2020, and has never reached a full 1.0 release. Throughout its Early Access period, Strange Matter Studios released a steady stream of major content updates: new heroes (Phase in December 2021, Feng Mao in January 2022, Crunch in March 2022, and Iggy & Scorch in August 2022), a major economy overhaul with the free-to-play transition in July 2022, new game mode development, and a rename to Fault: Elder Orb. The developer was also expanding to the Epic Games Store and announcing planned features including an ARAM map, a new main map, console support, and additional heroes.
However, the last developer communication of any kind was the patch 0.18.1 notes published on September 13, 2022. Since then — a span of nearly four years through July 2026 — there have been no patch notes, blog posts, dev streams, or announcements of any kind from Strange Matter Studios. The game is also no longer purchasable on Steam, with no active purchase options available, which is a significant sign that the game has been delisted or otherwise taken off sale, even while the store page technically remains visible.
The combination of extended developer silence (last heard from September 13, 2022), unfulfilled promises from mid-2022 (new map, ARAM mode, console release, additional heroes), and the removal of purchase options strongly suggests that active development has ceased without any official statement from the studio. The game remains in Early Access with no 1.0 launch ever completed.

About this game
WELCOME TO FAULT
At Strange Matter Studios, we are invested in rebuilding and improving upon the 3D action MOBA genre.
CHOOSE YOUR HERO
Select your play style with many variations of hero’s; from a massive hammer-wielding soul collector to a space mage with control over interdimensional portals. Play games to unlock more heroes to add to your collection and master the battlefield of Fault!
GROW STRONG WITH FAVOR
A unique gameplay element that separates Fault from other MOBAs is the introduction of a feats system, which allows a player to gain strength by achieving milestones during a match.
ADAPT AND EVOLVE
Fault has many unique items to choose from that can sway the flow of battle. Collect gold from minion and hero kills and build your hero to handle any situation.
MAP AND OBJECTIVES
Fault has an original map suited to tactical play with its verticality and well planned out jungle paths. The jungle is full of creatures that when slain will increase you and your team’s strength.
Paragon assets and characters in Fault are the property of Epic Games, Inc. and used under a license.
