Evaluation
Feed and Grow: Fish has been in Early Access since January 8, 2016. Over the years, the developer Old B1ood delivered a consistent stream of major updates: new maps (Swamp, Arctic/Antarctic, Coral Reef), a full survival game mode, multiplayer rework, dozens of new fish species, and seasonal events. Major content drops arrived roughly every 6–12 months between 2017 and 2021.
The last update of any kind was on November 1, 2021 (update 0.14.2), which added a Halloween event, two new fish species, model remakes for Salmon and Orca, and bug fixes. Since that date — now over four and a half years ago — the developer has posted nothing publicly.
The store description still explicitly promises ongoing development: new fish abilities and passives, new game modes for single and multiplayer, Steam Workshop support, and modding tools. A March 2021 post also outlined plans for Steam Workshop content modding (custom maps, fish, scenarios) that was never followed up on. None of these commitments have been visibly fulfilled or formally retracted.
The game remains available for purchase in Early Access. No statement has been made about the game reaching 1.0, development concluding, or the studio closing. The prolonged silence following a sustained update history and still-outstanding promises raises serious questions about whether active development is continuing.
Evidence
Update 0.14.2 shipped with a Halloween event, two new fish species (Dorudon and Zander), and model remakes for Salmon and Orca. This is the last official developer communication on record.
Update 0.14.1 announced plans to add Steam Workshop support for custom maps, fish, and scenarios, with a full modding guide promised 'as soon as steam workshop gets turned on.' This content was never delivered.
