Evaluation
Take On Mars spent several years in Steam Early Access before officially launching on February 9, 2017. After launch, the developer shipped one major free content update — the Europa Update on November 15, 2017 — which added an entirely new environment (Jupiter's moon Europa), new missions, vehicles, and gameplay mechanics. That update represents the last developer communication of any kind and the last piece of content shipped for the game. There have been no developer posts, patches, announcements, or any other official communications since November 15, 2017. The game has no unreleased DLC listed on the store, no season pass, and no outstanding developer commitments. Given that the last major update shipped over eight years ago (as of June 2026) with no follow-up activity whatsoever, the game's content development is clearly complete. It launched as a finished product with one post-launch content addition, and no further updates have materialized in the years since.
Evidence
The Europa Update launched as a free major content addition, adding Jupiter's moon Europa as a new environment, two new single-player missions, a co-op scenario, new vehicles, and underwater mechanics. This is the last developer communication on record.
Take On Mars officially launched out of Steam Early Access on February 9, 2017, marking its 1.0 release after years of Early Access development.
