FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE launched on Steam on June 17, 2022 as a complete, self-contained package bundling the full base game with the FF7R EPISODE INTERmission story DLC featuring Yuffie Kisaragi, plus a set of bonus equipment items. The store description explicitly lists all included content, presenting this as a finished product.
Since launch, Square Enix has issued a series of quality-of-life patches. A December 2024 update (v1.004) added a "New Game - Head Start" mode and cutscene fast-forward. A January 2026 update (v1.006) added "Streamlined Progression" accessibility options. A February 18, 2026 update (v1.007) added the Revival Earrings and Survival Set items to the in-game Gift Box. Five soundtrack DLC packs were also released across January 2025 and January 2026, all of which are now available — there are no unreleased DLC entries on the store.
A September 4, 2026 announcement confirms that FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION — the third and final game in the FF7 Remake trilogy — will launch on April 8, 2027, with pre-purchase now open. The announcement promotes REMAKE INTERGRADE as one of two prior entries players should complete before REVELATION, reinforcing its role as the finished first chapter of the series. No new story content, expansions, or additional DLC for REMAKE INTERGRADE itself were announced.
The game is complete as a standalone product. Players looking to continue the story can play FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH (the second entry, available now) and then FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION (the third entry, arriving April 8, 2027).
