FLAMBERGE entered Steam Early Access on March 25, 2015. The developer, a small two-person indie team (HYDEZEKE), has always been transparent about the game being unfinished and requiring significant additional work to reach its vision of ~20 missions with a complete story. Over the years, the team shipped several meaningful updates: a large overhaul and Chapter 2 content in early 2016, a major update with Chapter 3 and extensive UI/gameplay revisions in August 2018, and incremental patches along the way. Throughout development, the team acknowledged periods of silence caused by personal hardship, full-time schooling, and other life circumstances — but consistently reaffirmed that the game was still being developed. The last developer communication on Steam was on May 4, 2019, announcing a multiplayer beta. At that point, Chapter 4 had been in development for over a year, side content and support conversations were described as planned, and the story was explicitly unfinished. The game has received no updates or developer posts since that date. The game remains listed on Steam as an Early Access title. It is still purchasable. However, with no developer activity since May 4, 2019 — more than seven years ago — and significant unfinished content that was actively in development at the time of the last communication, the current state of development is unclear. There has been no announcement that development has ended, but equally no sign the developer is still working on it.
