On June 25, 2024, Playground Games officially announced that Forza Horizon 4 would be removed from digital storefronts — the Microsoft Store and Steam — on December 15, 2024, due to expiring licensing agreements with automotive partners. The developer confirmed that Series 77, ending August 22, 2024, would be the final Festival Playlist series, and that no further content updates would follow. DLC was delisted from stores starting on the same day as the announcement (June 25, 2024), with the full game following on December 15, 2024. As confirmed by the store data, the game is no longer purchasable. Players who already own the game can still download and play it, but no new players can acquire it through digital platforms.
