G2 Fighter entered Steam Early Access on October 12, 2018 as an unfinished ARPG with story content still being developed. The developer shipped a steady stream of major story updates through 2019 and 2020: Chapter 3 content arrived in October 2019, more story chapters in May 2020 and June 2020, and new story content alongside a major systems overhaul on December 31, 2020 and January 28, 2021. Throughout this period, the developer (posting under "Orbit Games") was candid about external disruptions — including government approval processes and the COVID-19 outbreak affecting their Chongqing-based team — but consistently reaffirmed their commitment to finishing the game and delivering promised content.
The last developer communication of any kind was the January 28, 2021 update post. Since that date, there have been no patch notes, developer blogs, announcements, or any other official communication — a silence now stretching over five years to today, June 27, 2026. The game remains listed on Steam in Early Access with no 1.0 release date announced, and the store description still describes a game with an unresolved main storyline. The developer's own notes described story chapters still to be released, meaning the game's content was not complete as of their last communication.
Given the complete absence of developer communication since January 28, 2021, combined with outstanding story content that was promised but never confirmed as shipped, the game's development status is deeply uncertain. The Early Access flag remains active, and no statement of completion, studio closure, or project cancellation has been made publicly.
Evidence
Major update released with new story side quests for characters Maslova, Wendy, and Norm, plus a remade mount system and multiplayer content. This is the last recorded developer communication.
Developer apologized for delay due to government approval requirements, confirmed they restarted content work, and stated: 'We will gradually accelerate the pace of game developing in 2021, and release the content we've promised during this period. We will never give up, never and ever.'

G2 FIGHTER is a Top-Down view shooter ARPG with Low Poly style. We created a grand world and have built various of cities and scenes in it. Players are able to immerse themselves here and free to fight, drive and execute all kinds of missions. There will be a main story line that leads us go into this world of chaos, find the truth behind the darkness.

- Chapter Four on line, fight system optimization
- Chapter Five on line, complete the story, legion combat system
- Some other dungeons and interesting gameplay will be added in Chapter Four (for example fishing, cooking and driving).
- We will keep on transplanting of console & NS version, plan to release in the middle of next year.
